Pensacola, Fla., Oct. 1, 2017 – Covenant Care announced today an exciting new innovation in memory care with plans to open The Residence, a Memory Care Center at the Joyce Goldenberg Campus in Northeast Pensacola. Covenant has partnered with expert leaders in memory and dementia care to develop the best in programming, and to assist in the design of The Residence. Every aspect of care – intellectual engagement, social involvement, preferred menus and sleep routines – is focused completely around the resident and their preferences. This specialized approach is the base of Covenant’s development of results-driven dementia care programs.
In addition to being the area’s premier residential home for memory care, The Residence will also serve as a hub for Alzheimer’s care and research in the community. The new memory care center will offer detailed and objective evaluations that are directly linked to the plan of care and monitoring of disease progression. The Residence will become a hub for memory care with assessments offered to anyone in the community, not just those living at the new center.
Utilizing the latest technology, Covenant Care will engage family members to develop a predictive behavior model for each client living at The Residence. This model will allow caregiver staff to better recognize changes in behavior and prevent undesirable outcomes before they can occur. Smart technology will also allow families to receive frequent updates regarding their loved ones changing health and daily care needs.
Equally important, The Residence will be established as a research and teaching site to produce continual quality improvement in patient care, programming, training and staffing models. This research will extend beyond the walls of The Residence impacting Alzheimer’s care locally, regionally and nationally and will set a new standard of care for the nation’s rapidly expanding senior population.
