Since 2018, the Covenant Care Foundation’s My Wish program has granted wishes for over 3,200 individuals, creating special moments for children, adults, and their families, who are suffering. We are thrilled to announce a new branch of our My Wish Program: Vet’s Wish! Vet’s Wish is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of our military veterans by creating memorable experiences for them and their families.
About Vet's Wish
Whether it’s fulfilling an immediate need or realizing a lifelong dream, our mission is to express heartfelt gratitude through meaningful actions. Vet’s Wish covers a wide range of requests, from providing essential items to organizing family reunions, final vacations, personal hero meet-and-greets, and reconnecting veterans with their military past. This program not only benefits the veterans but also brings solace, pride, and joy to their caregivers and loved ones.
Wishes We Grant
From trips to see the Blue Angels show, flying a WWII airplane, visiting former military friends, or returning to a place with personal/historical significance, we’re honored to be able to grant wishes for our country’s finest!
Tom's Wish
In May, we had the honor of meeting Tom Palmer, a 100-year-old World War II veteran. Tom and his wife, Diane, had spent many years traveling the country in their RV. As his health declined with age, Tom regretted that they never had the chance to visit one special place together: the Allegheny Mountains. When Covenant Care's My Wish team learned about Tom's wish, we connected with the local VA and began planning his trip.
Recently, a surprise party was thrown in honor of Tom's 100th birthday. Surrounded by his family and friends, he received the gift of a lifetime—a trip to the Allegheny Mountains! Tom will embark on this exciting new adventure this fall, and we can’t wait to share the pictures.
When asked about the big surprise, Covenant Care’s Aaron West, Vice President of Advancement said, "It's not every day you get to do this, not only for a 100-year-old birthday party, but for a veteran that has served our country. To be in the position that we are with Covenant Care and our home healthcare Veterans Wish program, to be able to do things that honor them and recognize them is so much fun."
